If you are strolling through The Village Shops in Gatlinburg on a crisp fall day and you catch the unmistakable smell of rich, full-bodied brew, chances are you’re not far from Coffee & Company. This amazing shop will not only whip up a stunningly delicious coffee drink for you while you wait, but they have their own amazing line of locally-roasted whole bean and ground coffees for you to enjoy at home, too.
True coffee lovers like the actual taste of coffee itself (minus adornments), and will keep it dressed down. If that describes you, no worries…Coffee & Company has you covered. Order one of what they call their “Straight Ups”…a “Cup of Joe,” “Americano,” or “Shot in the Dark” to name a few.
If you like a little coffee with your cream and sugar, you might want to treat yourself to one of their delicious “Specialty Drinks.” Choose from, among others, a caramel macchiato, mocha latte or white mocha latte. Additionally, you can ask for seasonal flavors like pumpkin and apple and, if you prefer, skim, soy or oat milk as a creamer. (There is a full complement of flavorings at your disposal.) In short, you can build your own special coffee drink to order!
Let’s skip to the good part! You can take the intoxicating scents of this wonderful shop home with you! Imagine sitting on your OWN back deck, watching a fall sunrise and sipping fresh brewed flavored coffee ranging from Bourbon Pecan, to Pumpkin Spice to Crème Brulee and Cinnamon Coffee Cake. The full-bodied delicious character of these coffees is available in your choice of whole bean or ground for automatic drip, electric percolator, coarse, fine, espresso or extra fine. You can also get the coffees in J-Cups…which are single servings compatible with most machines such as Keurigs!
If you prefer a bolder, less sweet coffee, has Coffee & Company EVER got you covered. Choose from offerings like Andes Mountain Columbian, Smoky Mountain Mist (a mix of Indonesian, African and Central American coffees) and many, many others.
As wonderful as Coffee & Company is (and it is truly divine), it doesn’t have a corner on the java market in The Village Shops. Maddi Mae’s Café & Creamery, as you might know if you’ve ever stopped in, is about so much more than their wonderful homemade ice cream. They, too have a wonderful menu of coffee drinks made from beans roasted in nearby Maryville, Tennessee! What’s more, you can order a meal! The food is fresh and the service very, very friendly. All of the shops in The Village are happy to see you and the staff at Maddi Mae’s makes that very clear. Whether you are there for a Cuban Espresso, the New Orleans-style Café Au Lait, a Dirty Chai or a steaming hot black cup of coffee, all frills aside, you will enjoy the experience as well as the flavors! While at Maddi Mae’s you can grab a sandwich and a specialty soda. What is a specialty soda? Try the Double Cola bottled in nearby Chattanooga, Tennessee, or perhaps knock back a Cheerwine or Dr. Enuf. You’ll enjoy telling folks what that was like! Delicious AND refreshing.
