The Altmans have carried the vision of celebrating all things fun right into this new venture. Showcase Sports is the city’s newest sports cards and collectibles shop, and its debut a little over a year ago created quite a buzz. Nolan Spurgeon, the fiancé of the Altmans’ daughter Sam Altman, runs the store. He says people are very happy to see a business of this kind in Gatlinburg. “We hear that on almost a daily basis,” he says. New items are literally arriving all the time, leaving local collectors chatting about what’s new and what may come next! The best news? This store will buy, sell or trade! Many have found collecting sports cards and other memorabilia to be a very fulfilling hobby. For hobbyists living in or visiting Gatlinburg, Showcase is just what the doctor ordered.
